Forgable

Terms of Service

Last updated 29 September 2026. These terms are the agreement between you and Forgable. By creating an account you accept them.

1. Who you are dealing with

Forgable is operated by [ to be completed: registered company name ], registration number [ to be completed: CIPC registration number ], of [ to be completed: registered / physical address ]. Contact: hello@theappforge.app.

2. What the service is

You describe an application; Forgable builds it, gives it a database, deploys it to the internet, and keeps improving it when you ask. Forgable also provides business tools — payroll, invoices, bookings, a customer list — and a way into the App Forge catalogue of ready-made apps. Forgable does not sell or bill the App Forge apps’ plans: an App Forge app that charges takes its own payments, and not every app publishes plans or charges at all. What you buy through Forgable itself (credits, Forgable plans and done-for-you services) is billed by Forgable.

Forgable is a tool that writes software. Software written by a machine can be wrong. You are responsible for checking that what it built does what your business needs before you rely on it, especially anything that calculates money, tax or wages. We give no warranty that generated code is fit for a particular purpose.

3. Your account

One person, one account, and you are responsible for what happens under it — keep the password to yourself. You must be 18 or older and, if you are signing up for a business, entitled to bind it. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has got in.

4. Credits, plans and what things cost

  • A credit buys one change to one app. Building the first version costs one credit. Repairs of a build that Forgable itself broke are free.
  • A new account gets a few credits free, and one app.
  • A monthly plan grants its credits on every successful charge and renews monthly until cancelled. Extra app slots are added to the same monthly charge from the next renewal.
  • A top-up is once-off. Those credits do not expire while your account is open.
  • Prices are in South African rand and are what is shown at the moment you buy. We may change prices for the future; a change never applies to a month already paid for.

Payments are taken by PayFast. Your card details are entered on PayFast’s pages and never reach us. A monthly plan authorises PayFast to charge that amount every month until you cancel.

5. Cancelling, and refunds

Cancel a plan whenever you like; it runs to the end of the month you have paid for and does not renew. We do not refund credits that have been spent, and we do not refund part of a month. Unused credits are forfeited when an account is closed.

If the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 or the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 gives you a stronger right than this clause — such as a cooling-off period on an electronic transaction — that right applies, and nothing here limits it.

6. Who owns what

  • Your app is yours. The code Forgable writes for you, and everything in your app’s database, belongs to you. Ask and we will hand over the repository and a database dump.
  • Forgable is ours. The builder, the platform, the templates and the brand stay ours. Nothing here gives you a licence to them beyond using the service.
  • You give us permission to store, copy and process what you put in — including sending it to the AI providers listed in the privacy policy — only so far as running the service requires.
  • You confirm you are entitled to use whatever you upload or point us at, and that it is not somebody else’s to give.

7. How your apps are hosted

While your app is on Forgable it runs inside our accounts: its code sits in a private repository under our GitHub organisation, its database is a Supabase project we create, and it is served by a Cloudflare Worker we deploy. That is what lets one sentence become a running app. It also means that if you close your account, those things are destroyed with it — see clause 10.

8. Fair use

Do not use Forgable to build or host anything that:

  • is against South African law, or the law where your users are;
  • sends bulk unsolicited messages, phishes, or mines cryptocurrency;
  • attacks anyone’s systems, including ours, or tries to get around your plan’s limits;
  • hosts malware, or material that sexually exploits children;
  • stores other people’s personal information you have no right to hold.

We may suspend an app or an account that does, and will tell you why.

9. Availability, idle apps, and support

We aim to keep everything up but we do not offer a service level agreement, and we do not promise the service will be uninterrupted or error-free. Planned work is announced where we can.

Databases cost money to keep running, so idle ones rest. A free app’s database is paused after 3 days without use, and a free app nobody has opened for 30 days is deleted along with its database — we email a warning a week before. On a paid plan, databases pause after 14 days (30 on Business) and wake the moment somebody visits; paid apps are not deleted for being idle.

10. Ending it

You can close your account at any time, in the app or at forgable.app/delete-account. You are shown what will be destroyed, you type a confirmation, and after 7 days your apps, their databases, their code and your account are permanently deleted. You can cancel during those 7 days. The privacy policy sets it out step by step.

We may close an account that breaks clause 8, that has not paid, or where we are required to. Except for a serious breach we will give you notice and a chance to get your work out.

11. Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including under the Consumer Protection Act. Subject to that: we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost profits, or for data you have not kept a copy of; and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to what you paid Forgable in the three months before it arose.

Keep your own backups of anything you cannot afford to lose. We will hand you a dump whenever you ask.

12. If you got the app from a store

The Forgable app is licensed to you, not sold. Apple and Google are not parties to this agreement and have no responsibility for the service; your agreement about the app store itself is with them. The app contains no purchases — plans and credits are not sold in the app, and it will never ask you for a card.

13. Changes to these terms

We may change these terms. The date at the top says when they last changed, and material changes are sent to you by email or shown in the app before they take effect. Carrying on using Forgable after that is acceptance; if you would rather not, close your account under clause 10.

14. Law

South African law governs this agreement, and the courts of the Republic of South Africa have jurisdiction. If a clause is unenforceable the rest still stands.
